CAREER Frans Van Praet. Was born in 1937 in Sint-Amands at the Scheldt, Belgium. Studied as a modeller at Dendermonde and also sculpture at the Academy. Took his degree in interior architecture and design at the St. Luc Institute in Brussels. Created in 1965 his own research department in Dessel, Belgium. Works since 1979 for the industry, creating furniture. Receives in 1987 the Award Design from the Ministry of the Flemish Community. Since 1991 : lives and works in Antwerp, Mercator-Orteliushuis. Some realisations among the many projects of interior decoration for private as official commissioners : 1973 Design and Interior decoration of the Nuclear Power Station Doel, Antwerp 1988 Creation of a monumental sculpture + the entrance and Museum of the Gemeentekredietbank, Brussels 1989 Realizes the European Sport and Business Center + Golf House, Hotel and Restaurant at Waregem, Belgium 1989 Complete restoration and general concept Town-Hall in the City of Lommel, Belgium 1990 General Concept & Layout Biennial INTERIEUR at Kortrijk, Belgium 1992 General concept Interior architecture and exhibitions of the Belgium pavilion at the worldexhibition Expo 92 in Seville, Spain.
